About CAR Designs
Founded in 2000 by designer and silversmith Charlotte Landman, CAR Designs creates bespoke silverware and handcrafted jewellery from the Red Door Studio in Maidstone, Kent.
Every piece is individually designed and made with a focus on quality craftsmanship, whether it's elegant jewellery for everyday wear or a one-of-a-kind piece for a special occasion. Charlotte's work combines traditional silversmithing techniques with contemporary design to create timeless, personal pieces.
CAR Designs specialises in bespoke commissions, including a dedicated wedding service. From handcrafted wedding and engagement rings in your choice of precious metal to jewellery for bridesmaids, groomsmen and other members of the wedding party, each piece is made to your exact requirements.
In addition to jewellery, CAR Designs produces a wide range of handmade silverware for life's most significant moments. Commissions include christening gifts, wedding and anniversary presents, retirement gifts, commemorative pieces and church plate. A repair and alteration service for silverware and church plate is also available.
Based in Kent, CAR Designs regularly exhibits at craft fairs and events throughout the South East of England. While family commitments mean Charlotte now stays closer to home, you can find details of upcoming shows on the Events page.
During the pandemic, Charlotte and her mother, Annie, expanded their creative offering by launching Handmade by Us. This collection now includes handcrafted knitwear, painted glassware, greeting cards, fleece hats and a growing range of handmade gifts, with new ideas continually being added.
